Robert Kahn has been in private practice for 18 years. Prior to the formation of Robert Kahn Architect he was Senior Designer at James Stirling, Michael Wilford & Associates in London. He received a Masters in Architecture from Yale University. He has taught design, most recently at Yale University where he held a Davenport Chair Professorship. He is the recipient of the Prix de Rome from the American Academy in Rome. He has received numerous AIA awards. Projects range from academic, institutional, residential to commercial. A partial list of clients includes artist Frank Stella, actors Kevin Kline & Phoebe Cates, Daniel Day-Lewis & Rebecca Miller, and Mary-Louise Parker, playwright David Mamet, directors Wes Anderson and Nicholas Hytner, musician Adam Duritz, Lincoln Center Theaters and Classic Stage Company. The firm’s work has been featured in many publications including Architectural Digest, House & Garden, Metropolitan Home, The New York Times Magazine & The New York Times.

Robert Kahn is also creator and editor of the popular City Secrets series. Currently in print are City Secrets New York City; City Secrets London; City Secrets Florence, Venice & the Towns of Italy; and City Secrets Rome. Forthcoming in 2007 is City Secrets Movies.

Robert Kahn lives with his wife Fiona and daughter in New York City, Shelter Island and Wainscott, NY.
